SOS Climate Flashmob: Don't let the shipping industry sink the Paris deal

The UN International Maritime Organization (IMO) is holding talks right now to decide whether to tackle shipping carbon emissions or carry on with planet-wrecking business as usual. If the shipping industry were a country it would be the sixth largest polluter. The negotiations are vulnerable to hijack by corporate interests. And with some countries holding out against any caps on CO2, the final deal might be a weak compromise that would fail to tackle pollution and risk sinking the Paris agreement.

Who calls the shots at the IMO? Why is shipping such a big deal for the climate? Read more here.

Tuesday 10th April is a crucial day in the discussions - join us to let them know the world is watching! Together with other campaigners, we'll be raising the alarm for the climate with music and drumming at this family-friendly event. All welcome.
