Target Ten Thousand!

The Campaign against Climate Change desperately needs money to keep doing the valuable work it does. This includes both organising the biggest annual mobilisation of people pushing for action on climate in the UK and spearheading the 'Global Climate Campaign' which organises the world's only regular international mobilisation on climate, with 70+ countries involved last year.

The Campaign has always put ACTION first, because, given the urgency of the climate crisis, waiting until next year could be too late. It has often been a struggle to raise funds to keep up with the pace of the campaigning. Up to now we have been lucky to receive just enough in the way of the odd windfall donation from time to time to keep going but this has been a desperately hand to mouth existence.

What we really need is a secure regular income, or at least much more of a regular income than we have now. In fact we have been steadily building up a secure base of regular donations via standing orders to the campaign, but we have got a long way to go before we can really feel we are effectively funding the campaign this way.

Hence the "Target Ten Thousand" campaign. If we can get 10,000 people donating just one pound per month then we will be well on the way to financial security and the ability to keep up the kind of tempo of campaigning that we need.
