CCC is always looking for volunteers of all kinds: if you think you can help at all please contact info@campaigncc.org . There are also the following vacant volunteer posts : Finance & Fundraising Manager, International Outreach Assistant and Events Coordinator .

Adding an email signature

Use your email signature for something useful; promote the national climate demo amongst your friends, family, lists and networks.

Signatures can be simply text but the most eye catching include HTML tags. Try the HTML signature first; if that does not work for you go for a plain text signature.

HTML Signature

The HTML tags allow colour to be added. Here's what recipients see:

National Climate March - Dec 8th 2007

The HTML for this signature is:

<table style="font-family:sans-serif;" border="0">
  <tbody>
    <tr>
      <td style="background-color: rgb(102, 255, 153);">
        <a
            title="Campaign against Climate Change"
            style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); text-decoration: none;"
            href="http://www.campaigncc.org/">National Climate March - Dec 8th 2007</a>
      </td>
    </tr>
  </tbody>
</table>

To use this signature:

  1. Right click on signature and click on "Save Target As..." and save the file as ccc-signature.txt in My Documents.

Then configure your email client to use that file, this is done as follows:

On Outlook Express:

  1. go to Tools menu, click Options, and then click the Signatures tab.
  2. Click the New button.
  3. Click the File button.

  5. If you want this signature on all your e-mail (except replies and forwards), check Add signatures to all outgoing messages (shown below).
  6. When you are finished, click OK.

Note that this only work for new messages. See Gerry's comments.

  2. Next to Send in this message format, select HTML from the dropdown box if it is not already selected..
  3. Click on the Signature Picker at the bottom of the dialog box.
  4. Click the New... button.
  5. Enter the name of the new signature as ccc.
  6. Click on Use this file as a template.
  7. Click on Browse button and select the filename ccc-signature.html or the filename that you used to save the signature above. If you cannot see ccc-signature.html make sure that you have navigated to the directory that contains this file e.g. My Documents.
  8. Click on Next button and you should see a preview of the signature in the window.
  9. Click on Finish button and then OK followed by another OK.

On Thunderbird:

  1. go to Tools -> Account Settings -> <Account Name>.
  2. Click the Attach this signature option.
  3. Click the Choose... button and attach the signature file ccc-signature.html or the filename that you used to save the signature above.

More info about setting signatures can be found here for outlook expressthunderbird, or eudora.

To use an HTML signature, you have to send messages in HTML format, which is the default format for outlook and outlook express. Not all recipients will receive HTML based signatures because some over zealous firewalls remove them or generally dismantle them.
